The video below is a presentation of the various ministries which the Lay Canossians are involved in.




There are six groups in Singapore as shown below.

Canossa and Bakhita Groups

Veritas and Magdalene's Apostles Groups

St Anthony's and Caritas Groups

All the Groups hold regular monthly meetings and fellowship. Members are involved in the various activities as follows –

Evangelization
1. Sponsors in R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
2. Catechism for children
3. Faith Journey – Faith sharing group.

Pastoral Care of the Sick
1. Administering communion to the home-bound or in hospitals.
2. Visiting and praying with the sick and elderly at Home and in Hospices
3. Volunteers in Elderly Day Care Centre and community services
4. Free Counselling services

Education
1. Giving free tuition to poor children.

Formation of the Laity and Spiritual Exercises
1. Formation of Lay Canossians as Formators to conduct workshops and sessions for new and existing Lay Canossians
2. Assisting in parish-run retreats of the various church groups
3. Powerhouse of prayer (Magdalene’s Apostles group)

Other Apostolate
1. Parishes:
- Lectors (Liturgy)
- Extra-ordinary Ministers
- Choir
- Sacristy work and Flower arrangement
- Hospitality (Wardens)
- Co-ordinating faith formation activities
2. Volunteering at Life Springs (retreat house run by Canossian sisters)
3. Participation in Rainbow programmes for children
4. Neighbourhood prayer groups, Sharing of the Word
Prison Ministry
5. Prison Ministry:
- LC Mary Teo goes weekly with a Canossian Sister to administer to Catholic prisoners, both male and female. She has been in this apostolate for more than 10 years.
- 7 others instead run a 7-week program to women incarcerated in Changi Women Prison. These inmates are of various races and religions. The program runs twice yearly. This group is in its 10th year of service as of 2011.
